((The one thing that is keeping me from art...))

((...Is art.

I know, I know, that sounds weird and confusing, but it's true. I have a clay class this semester that is taking more and more free time away from my weekly schedule. For instance, I have this one project that requires me to make 30 clay tiles. I only have six done right now, and these are due this Thursday. Instead of spending my Wednesday the way I want, I have to dedicate almost the entire day to clay tiles. OTL

Besides that...there is another project I'm working on that's a bit more personal.

You see, I started fiddling around with RPG Maker about a week ago. I always wanted to make my own video game, and this seemed like a good place to start. I have the XP version simply because it's cheaper and can still get the job done. Currently, I have a small handful of overworld sprites for the main characters and some NPCs, as well as an original song that I made with MuseScore. My ultimate goal is to make the majority of the game from scratch, meaning original (character) sprites, items, enemies, bosses, and a complete soundtrack. Also, I plan on doing this by myself, save perhaps a few trusted friends as beta testers. The reason for this is that I really want to challenge myself, to prove that I am capable of expanding my creativity to other media, and to possibly bring myself one step closer towards a true career (something I really need to think about since I plan on taking time off from school after receiving my bachelor's). Sure, I might not have any actual experience with sprites and programming game mechanics prior to this, but it's an opportunity for me to explore.

As to what the game is about, well...it is a fan game, a fan game about a certain Youtuber that you may or may not be familiar with. He just recently reached six million subscribers, and it's because of the vlog he posted soon afterward that I became inspired to start this project, a project I intend on finishing. This gentleman is none other than Markiplier. Now whether you like him or not isn't important to me. I personally love his videos and his positive attitude towards life and his fans, but I know that not everyone has the same taste, and that's fine. In fact, I plan on also making it as an indirect tribute to some other Youtubers I enjoy, such as JonTron and the Game Grumps.

If I can, I will try to answer questions and whatnot sometime this week...after my clay work is out of the way for the time being. I'm still hanging on, don't worry.))
